Transfer, Non-Degree & Summer Students:
To provide better advising services to these students, we strongly recommend that applications and all required documentation be submitted no less than 30 days prior to the date of enrollment.

For students applying for Summer 2017 and beyond, a non-refundable application fee of $40.00 is required.

UTPB is headquartered in Odessa, with a campus in nearby Midland. Together, the adjoining cities have a combined population of 266,000.

You’re welcome to visit campus year-round. We offer both individual and group tours. Group tours of more than 25 people require two weeks advance notice.

*It is recommended that students submit exam scores in order to qualify for scholarships that may base award on class rank and exam scores. No minimum score is required but students must submit scores.
** Old SAT Total score comprises Critical Reading (CR) + Math (M)
***New SAT Total score comprises Evidenced-based Reading & Writing section + Math section

NOTE: Students completing the Recommended or Distinguished High School Graduation Plan, the Distinguished Level of Achievement in the state’s Foundation School Program, the International Baccalaureate Diploma or an equivalent college preparatory curriculum will meet the high school unit requirements unconditionally.
Individual Reviews take place for any student who does not meet the stated class rank and SAT/ACT or high school graduation plan to determine if the student is still eligible for admission. A portion of each freshman class will include students who have been admitted under this review process. So if the academic credentials are close to the stated requirements, please consider applying and give us a chance to review your application.

The following documents are also required:

  • Official high school transcript showing grade average, class rank, or APPROXIMATE class rank and date, or expected date, of graduation
  • Official college transcript if any Dual Credit/Early College course work has been completed
  • SAT or ACT scores

Transfer Requirements

You’ll be considered a transfer student if you have already graduated from high school or received your GED and you’ve enrolled at another college or university and completed 24 or more semester hours. Transfer applicants must submit records of all accredited institutions attended, even if they do not wish to transfer the credits, and have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 (C) on a 4.0 grading system.

If you’re an international applicant, apply online at at least six months before anticipated enrollment and have test scores and academic records submitted at least 2-3 months before your first semester.
